TRANSMAX 2000 builds on the usefulness of the ZVCM by looking beyond the bushing capacitive layers to the bushing base, connections to transformer windings, and the transformer itself. Beyond a fully-featured bushing monitor, it also receives and interprets Partial Discharge phenomena in the range of 2Mhz to 20Mhz. Partial Discharge is the result of defective insulation in areas of high electrical stress, movement of energized parts, or design errors. Some types of Partial Discharge may not present a problem, but others can develop into surface tracking or insulation failure.
TRANSMAX 2000 uses a single bushing sensor for both PD and bushing monitoring. This is made possible through the use of advanced signal processing and filtering techniques.
Other features may be included with the TRANSMAX 2000 System:
- Load Current
- GIC Monitoring
- Ambient Humidity
- Ambient Temperature
- Transformer Temperature
